Contracts that are not offset by the first notice day risk receiving a delivery notice from the clearinghouse. A delivery notice may be transferable or non-transferable, depending on the product. With a transferable notice, the buyer of the contract has the option of accepting delivery or of selling an offsetting contract on the exchange floor and transferring the notice to another buyer.
